Understanding RBM Configuration Priorities

You can imagine there is an unlimited number of configurations that can be present. But all things being equal, a given participant can apply to many configurations. So which configuration will be used? TrialKit has solved this with a priority system. The following will determine which configuration a given participant will use that belongs to multiple configurations.

  • Configuration Exists for Current Participant, current visit only, that is before the visit date of the form. In the event that multiple criteria exist, it will come up with the closest to the visit date.

  • Configuration Exists for Current Participant, any visit, that is before the visit date of the form. In the event that multiple criteria exist, it will come up with the closest to the visit date.

  • Configuration Exists for any Site participant, current visit only, that is before the visit date of the form. In the event that multiple criteria exist, it will come up with the closest to the visit date.

  • Configuration Exists for any Site participant, Any Visit to a current form where the visit date is before the start date. In the event that multiple criteria exist, it will come up with the closest to the visit date.

  • Configuration Exists for any participant, current interval only, current form where the visit date is before the start date. In the event that multiple criteria exist, it will come up with the closest to the visit date.

  • Configuration Exists for any participant, any visit interval, current form where the visit date is before the start date. In the event that multiple criteria exist, it will come up with the closest to the visit date.

These priorities give you excellent flexibility. You can have a single participant that has one RBM model for a form and the rest of the site participants have another RBM model. Understanding the priorities is very important.

The Existing RBM Configurations table will hold all configurations for a given form. The form is displayed above the table. When you are in configuration mode and you tap the Save Existing Configuration button, it will apply the model that you tapped out in the previous section. That means if the configuration was set up for something different, saving it with the new tapped out model will change which fields are to be reviewed. This can be a bit confusing but also offers maximum flexibility.
