Study Notifications

Study Administrators can setup specific notifications to display as a popup/banner message to users who sign into the specified study during a pre-defined date/time period. This can be useful for making announcements that all users will see until they dismiss the messge. For example, an Admin might want to let the sites know a new form has been added to the study and needs to be filled out, or quick instructions on how to perform a common activity. These notifictions can be set to start and expire on pre-defined dates, and dismissed by each user once they are ackowledged.

Configuring Notifications

Access to configure study notifications is a Host-level permission found under the category Host Administration Tools

With this enabled, any user with the corresponding Host level role will have access to the menu option, currently only within the iOS mobile app:

Tapping will open a screen where you can configure any number of notifications for specified studies within the Host account.

Study - For any notification being configured, select one or more studies for that notification to be displayed on.

Roles - Select one or more user roles that should see the notification

Start/End Dates - Select the time frame duration that the notification should display when the users sign in.

Notification Title - The title shown above every message

Notification Text (message) - The body of the message to display

 

Displayed Notifications

User will see a section on the home screen of the app with the notification(s) applicable for that study. If there are more than one, they can be accessed by swiping left to right, or by tapping the Dismiss button on each message.

Once dismissed, the notification will no longer be visible to the user.
